NORWEGIAN POLAR INSTITUTE
is the state's main agency for management-oriented research and consultancy, environmental monitoring, mapping and field activities in the polar regions. Polar Institute is under the Ministry of the Environment and the contact and service body for Norwegian and international polar research. The Institute has currently a lot of activity and is involved in many projects. Climate change is a central theme. 150 persons working at the main office in Troms?, Svalbard and Antarctica.


Web Editor (vicariate)

Our Webmaster / Information Officer will be out of maternity leave, we have thus free vicariate in one year from spring 2010.

Tasks
During the year, will replace the Norwegian Polar Institute technical platform for www.npolar.no. Webmasters will then largely worked with content structure, editing and transmission of text and images from the current to the new platform. Webmasters need to contribute actively in webgruppa their efforts to shape the new pages. Tasks include translation from Norwegian to English, and the opposite, and the production of Mon news articles for the Internet and other communication channels.

Position will also include assistant assignments for the editor of the scholarly journal Polar Research, information to the public and internal information (intranet).

Qualifications
The right person has education within the web, information or journalism at a college level or equivalent? alternatively, within the natural scientific research with experience from the web / journalism / communication. It was required good knowledge of Norwegian (usually both variants) and English, good cooperation skills and ability to work structured and independent. Knowledge and practical experience in internet solutions is a requirement and knowledge of Photoshop is an advantage. Experience from and knowledge about the polar area is also an advantage, and interest in polar research / High North / environment / climate issues will equally get benefit.

Salary
Webmasters will pay the first consultant in stillingskode 1408, salary 45? 53 for qualifications and seniority. Those who are successful applicant should be able to start in May / June 2010.

General
