CICERO is a private foundation affiliated with the University of Oslo. The center's objective is to engage in research, assessment, counseling and information about the climate problem. CICERO researchers have varied backgrounds from areas such as political science, sociology, economics and science. Total, we are about. 70 people and is located in new premises in CIENS-built in the Science Park (Gaustadalle?n 21).
CICERO researcher seeks to lead the center's department of political science and sociological climate research. The department's research covers both national and international climate policy, including actor studies with a focus on Norway, USA, EU and major developing countries such as China, Brazil and India, analysis of international climate negotiations and agreements, as well as issues related to technology development and use of instruments.
The position requires a PhD in political science or sociology, as well as regular international publishing. Research experience in social science climate research are emphasized. Research leader must have an interest in interdisciplinary research, and it is assumed that the person is motivated to put themselves in other disciplines than their own.
Research leader must be able to represent CICERO in academic contexts, and they must have broad experience from research and / or project management. Furthermore, research leader have good cooperation skills, and be good to motivate employees. Research leader has personal liability for employees in the department and meet the management team. Research leader must understand Norwegian, both written and oral.
The position involves 50% research-related tasks and 50% management and administrative tasks. Appointments are made on a fixed term for a period of 3 years. The position is remunerated in Ltr. 69-79, after qualifications. CICERO provides permanent position as a researcher after completing a fixed term.
