FFI is a key contributor in the work of Civil Protection in Norway. We have extensive experience with risk and vulnerability analysis within the critical infrastructure and analysis of security challenges, emergency preparedness and crisis management. The work has made important contributions to parliamentary messages and public reports.
Tasks that are relevant are: Scenario-based analysis in national preparedness, including assessments of vulnerabilities and areas for improvement Reviews of the need for security measures Reviews of aspects around cross-sectoral cooperation in national crises, including civil-military cooperation
You want to work project-based and in a multidisciplinary environment with researchers with security policy, scientific and economic backgrounds. It is in close contact with other disciplines at the institute, government agencies and businesses within the community ? security, both nationally and internationally.
Required qualifications are a higher degree from a university or college (master's or doctoral degree, in natural science or social science field). Relevant experience of working within the Civil Protection and Civil Emergency Planning is an advantage. Graduates with good results are also encouraged to apply.
We are looking for versatile and solution-oriented people with an analytical orientation and good communication and collaboration features. We require good written and oral presentation ability, both in Norwegian and English. We particularly encourage women and persons of immigrant background to apply. Candidates must be security cleared for secret and could be authorized for national, NATO and other display worthy information FFI process. The position is a vicariate with duration from April / May 2010 to 31 August 2011. The position is remunerated in ltr. 50-75 (past U.S. $ 387 300 614 300), depending on the relevant education and experience. The preferred 2% pension contributions.
