IMR is one of Europe's largest marine research. We have about 700 employees and a number of research facilities and laboratories of high international standard. IMR owns and operates six research. Headquartered in Bergen, we have a department in Troms? and research stations in Matre, Austevoll and Fl?devigen.
At IMR, it is available a fixed 1109 as a research position in the first place is to work under a new Research Council funded
knowledge platform (Prevent), whose purpose is to map the spread and resistance development in salmon and to develop new treatments against the parasite. The position is located in the research group Population genetics and ecology and will be
linked to the IMR's focus on marine genomics with workplace pt Bergen.
Under Prevent platform, we want to increase our understanding of sea lice intestinal biology through studies of the regulatory functions and digestion. The position will be during the project period will be linked to studies of sea lice intestine, but other tasks can also be expected.
The position we want a person with a doctorate in molecular biology and documented experience in the characterization of genes in both protein level and sequence level. Candidates with experience of working with lice will be preferred.
Personal qualities such as good communication and collaboration capabilities, ability to work independently, effectively and purposefully, as well as the ability to generate, implement and report on project activities will be emphasized.
Felt-/toktarbeid and other travel related to the position can be expected.
