National Veterinary Institute is a national research institute in food safety, animal health and fish health management with the support of the authorities that primary role. National Veterinary Institute's activities should have their basis in research and development and include laboratory diagnostics and analysis, emergency preparedness, epidemiology, assessment and reference functions. Veterinary Institute to support the ministries and other government agencies in efforts to ensure safe food and good fish, shellfish and animal health. The department includes the main laboratory in Oslo and regional laboratories in Sandnes, Bergen, Trondheim, Harstad and Troms?, totaling approximately 350 employees. At the Veterinary Institute in Oslo is the free a 4-year commitment to research / post doc.
The position is linked to the work packages for two new projects that belong to NFR's platform investment in sea lice. The project is based on interdisciplinary cooperation between the various sections of the Veterinary Institute, national and international research community and industry. The position is administratively placed under the section of epidemiology, which currently has 14 staff incl two research fellows. Section is responsible for the National Veterinary Institute's core competencies within the epidemiology and risk assessment, and provides research-based scientific advice to the authorities (ministries and supervision), participating in national surveillance and control program, and research within the described rivande, analytical and theoretical (computer-based modeling) epidemiology.

Work tasks Work tasks include the development of new statistical calculation methods (protocols) for luseforekomst in salmonids (main project is led by the Section for parasitology) and models for the parasite's spread - and population dynamics (the main project led by IMR). Qualifications / Request background We seek a candidate with formal qualifications at doctoral level within epidemiology / statistics, often with good international experience / contacts. One would prefer candidates with knowledge of the aquaculture industry and experience from working with infectious diseases in farmed fish. Personal characteristics such as good cooperation ability, independence, communication ability and language skills will be emphasized.
The position will pay for the State's regulations are working in code 1109 or 1110 salary 59-72 (currently ?. 454 900 581 700 pr. Years), depending on qualifications and seniority. From wages is the preferred 2% to the Government Pension Fund.
