Pronova BioPharma is a global leader in the research, development and manufacturing of marine-originated Omega-3 derived pharmaceutical products. Pronova BioPharma had revenues of NOK 1,302 million in 2008. The company is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and has about 300 employees. Our headquarters are located at Lysaker outside Oslo in Norway, while production takes place at our manufacturing facilitys in Sandefjord, Norway, and in Kalundborg, Denmark. We have a highly qualified research and development team, and are our team at Lysaker is now looking for a:
R&D Manager
The R&D Manager will have a central role in the management of projects related to the development of new or existing pharmaceutical products. Furthermore the R&D Manager will be responsible for analysing and evaluating the results of studies conducted by both internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
* Initiate and coordinate the in vitro and in vivo non clinical studies and clinical phase 1 and 2 studies associated with R & D portfolio
* Initiate and coordinate work with external partners
* Ensure that Pronova has agreements with external partners prior to the initiation of studies
* Ensure that external partners meet Pronova?s quality standards
* Analyze and evaluate the results of Pronova?s studies and studies conducted by external partners
* Participation in the evaluation of new ideas and projects
* Contribute to write (patent applications) and writing regulatory documents
Desired knowledge:
* Knowledge of lipid metabolism and lipid effects in biological systems
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements for non-clinical and early clinical phase of drug development
* Knowledge of formulation development work from non-clinical phase through early clinical phase of drug development
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years work experience
* Experience in management of projects
* Experience in formulation development work (is an advantage)
Education:
* PhD., but this is not an absolute requirement
* Masters degree, preferably with specialization in the field of pharmaceutical development, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, biochemistry and/or molecular biology
