West Viken health (HF) was established on 1 July 2009 when the Kongsberg Hospital, Ringerike Hospital, Hospital of Asker and B?rum and Buskerud Hospital merged. The aim of the merger is to create better quality of patient care and to develop a better health care in cooperation with the municipalities.
West Viken HF provides hospitals and specialist till 450 000 persons in 27 municipalities in Buskerud, Vestfold, Akershus and Oppland. Health enterprise has 6700 full-time positions.
Asker and B?rum Hospital provides specialist mental health, substance abuse, internal medicine, geriatrics, stroke and rehabilitation, surgery, orthopedics, gynecology and childbirth. See www.sabhf.no for more information.
Section's task is the investigation, diagnosis and specialized treatment for sentralsykehus level of serious Sinnslidande patients with special needs and high risk acting out. The task is considered completed when the patient's needs can be addressed in a less specialized care and treatment level.
The section shall provide adequate education to patients and their families as well as maintain appropriate capacity building including training of environmental staff, the various technical groups and the development of expertise within the security field in mental health care for adults.
The section has 8 beds.
The unit is a section under the Department of psychosis treatment and in those days created its own outpatient clinic.
Psychologist / Psychologist specialist will be part of the process group in the department and belong to the staff within the section.
Relevant specialist course will be covered.
