Engineer / Department Engineer

(code 1083/1084/1085) - Project Position for 2 years, with possibility of extension (DMF-83-09)

Faculty of Medicine seeks an enthusiastic technician / practical-oriented engineer to operate a newly started ultralydtransduserverksted.

Faculty of Medicine (DMF) is one of NTNU's largest with nearly 900 employees, approximately 700 medical students and around 1800 students at the master and other programs and courses. The faculty is organized in departments, and the main activities are research, outreach and education in medicine and health. See also www.ntnu.no / DMF.

At the Department of Circulation and Medical Imaging (www.ntnu.no / ISB) will be starting up a ultralydtransduserverksted where we will develop and produce prototypes of piezoelectric ultralydtransdusere in the frequency range from 0.1 to 30 MHz. The project has a temporary duration of two years, and is a corporate-initiated innovation projects. The position is closely related to the GE Vingmed and MI Lab (www.ntnu.no / milab) and report in daily to the project.

Main activities:

. Drive yard in close collaboration with researchers
. Production of ultralydtransdusere: Machining and fabrication of transducers, at presisjonssaging,-grinding, soldering, etc.
. Bonding of diverse teams
. Adaptations of tools
. Practical design of transducers
. Basic electrical and acoustic measurements of prototypetransdusere

The position involves contact with other professional communities, the international environment.

Desired background and skills:

. Relevant, technical education by at least two years' duration beyond high school, for example in fine mechanics, etc.
. Practical experience and etter-/videreutdanning can compensate for the lack of formal education
. Experience from optical or finmekanisk workshop is desirable
. Experience with piezoelectric materials and electronics will be an advantage

We seek a person who has good communication and collaboration capabilities. The workshop is newly started and the holder of the position will have to take responsibility and work independently. There will also be placed on the ability of practical problem-solving. The successful candidate must master English.

The appointment is on the conditions at any time apply to public officials, and the like are added, must put up with any changes in the work.

Position as an engineer code 1083 paid by ltr. 37 to 54 in the national salary scheme, ? 314 800 to 415 900 per year. Position as Department Engineer code 1084 paid by ltr. 29 to 49 in the national salary scheme, ? 284 000 to 380 700 per year. Position as Department Engineer code 1085 paid by ltr. 36 to 56 in the national salary scheme, U.S.. 310 500 to 430 800 Placement in stillingskode and salary depends on qualifications and seniority. From the salary of 2% statutory deposit to the Government Pension Fund.
